ECT Series with Cummins engine.

 

Opening front grille.

To open front grille use the release catch inside the cab, it is beside the steering wheel on the drivers door side .From the outside use your finger to push up the catch at the bottom centre of the front grille.The grille then lifts up, to close push down, make sure the grille is closed properly.

MAKE SURE WINDSCREEN WIPERS ARE OFF, TO AVOID DAMAGE AND, OR INJURY.

Coolant.

 

 The coolant reservoir is located under the front grille, about 1/3 the way across from the left hand side.If engine is hot, release the pressure by unscrewing the cap 1 or 2 turns before taking the cap of completely. The coolant must not be lower than the middle of the viewing window.

Washer reservoir.

The washer reservoir is located under the front grille, to the left hand side.

Checking the oil. By dipstick.

Lift the front grille.The dipstick is located to the bottom left hand side.

Undo the wing nut and take dipstick out oil should be between the H and L marks.

The oil filler is located above the dipstick.

Checking   the oil. By  Drivers  Display Panel.

The 2 square menu buttons  are located  to the bottom right of the instrument panel.

Washer reservoir.
The washer reservoir is located under the front grille, to the right hand side.

Checking the oil.
You should check the engine oil level when cold, if the engine is hot, the oil will expand and up to
2 litres of engine oil too much could be indicated.
The vehicle should be on level ground.
The oil level is measured once when the ignition is switched on.
(The oil level is not measured whilst the engine is running.)
The engine needs to of been not running for a reasonable amount of time before a reading is taken.
Reasonable time depends on oil temperature.

Note, the engine oil level falls when the rear axel is lowered and rises when the rear axel is raised.
Switch on ignition.
Call up and check  the oil level on the drivers display using the,
"operating data /engine data /oil level" menu.
Correct oil as necessary.
Open the front grille, the red oil filler cap is 1/3 the way across from the right.
To operate the drivers display.
Two buttons are located just bellow the air gauges.
There is a dipstick on the engine, but it needs the cab raised.
